Submission Preparation Checklist

Ensure that your manuscript meets the thematic and chronological requirements of “Anuario Histórico Ibérico. Anuário Histórico Ibérico” (AHI).

Delete all information in the manuscript that could indicate who the author is (including your name in the bibliography, footnotes, and file details).

Very carefully edit your manuscript by AHI’s formatting requirements. Lack of formatting or formatting differently than asked will result in the manuscript being sent back until the formatting is done.

Specific Publication Guidelines

Only original works, not submitted elsewhere (in other journals), which are related to the thematic and chronological framework of the AHI, will be accepted for publication. They should not be resubmitted elsewhere (in other journals or monographs) while the review process is ongoing.

The Editorial Board will commission recognized specialists to conduct critical reviews of the initially accepted texts. There will be two blind peer reviews for one article. In case of a lack of two positive reviews, the Editor-in-Chief will make the final decision. The reviewers will be asked to present, in review form, the potential conflict of interest they may have with the Author.

Texts created using ghostwriting and guest authorship practices will not be accepted.

The Authors should send their papers to the e-mail address: anuariohistoricoiberico@al.uw.edu.pl The first name(s) and name, affiliation, ORCID number, and title of the article should be given in the form. This information should not be submitted with capital letters.

Illustrations are not allowed.

The manuscript file sent should be in .doc or .docx with an RTF format using a word processor. The article must have a title consisting of a max. of two sentences followed by an abstract (between 900 and 1200 characters with spaces) in Spanish or Portuguese and English and between 5 and 7 keywords in Spanish or Portuguese and English. Abstract to be in 12-point font.

The total length of the article cannot exceed 80 000 characters with spaces, including footnotes and references. Please do not use any automatic formatting except for the footnotes.

There is no publication fee.

Authors should obtain permission to publish any material under copyright.

In a signed document, the author of the article will explicitly declare that her/his submission is an original work, that none of its integral parts have been published previously, that it has not been published in another language and that it is not in the evaluation phase in other magazines, journals or publications.

Manuscripts can be submitted at any time.

The materials which will be excluded from peer reviews are: the introduction (only in the first volume, presenting aims and scope of the journal), important materials from a historical point of view from the conferences, as speeches and memories of contemporary witnesses of history; contemporary memories; reviews; information about important events, prizes and In memoriam articles. The evaluation of these materials will be realized by the Editorial Board.

Decisions on the publication of texts by the Scientific Council and Editorial Board members will be impartial. In addition, these articles will be submitted to a standard peer review procedure.

Conference materials will be published only of especially important events (in the opinion of the Editorial Board) and with at most ten texts, providing that scientific articles will be submitted to a standard peer review process.

The Authors will receive the final version of the article in PDF format. All articles published have Digital Object Identifier (DOI) and are available for free on our website.
